Bear, right…

So Bryan Sykes…has conducted a study…
The Yeti is a bear…
A bear. Yup.
Not just any old bear, it’s an ancient polar bear. Alternatively a new species, a hybrid between polar bears and brown bears.
Two whole hair samples were studied. Two samples found, not in relation to Yeti sighting, just in areas where Yeti’s have occasionally been seen.
Guess what else has been seen in that area? Uhm, Idk, could it be…bears?
One of the samples came from Bhutan, the other from an area in the Himalayas known as Ladakh.

So, Bryan Sykes, Yeti, bear.
Mainstream media: “Oh golly! This is something we can accept! A perfectly sensible explanation! Let’s get behind this immediately!”

Is it possible, maybe even probable that Sykes’ hair samples were actually…bear?

  1. Hi, I have been cruising your blog. Very imformative and entertaining. Love your writing style and the original views/subject matter. Thanks for posting.

  2. ‘Is it possible, maybe even probable that Sykes’ hair samples were actually…bear?’ Yes. In fact I think that was rather the point. If you are trying to suggest that the study is invalid because they examined bear hair not yeti hair then I suggest you google the phrase ‘begging the question’.

    1. When the tests concluded that the hair was from a bear, Sykes didn’t say “We tested hair collected from an area where yeti sightings have taken place. The hairs in this case proved to be from a bear”. He said ” We tested hair collected from an area where yeti sightings have taken place. The hairs proved to be from a bear and this means there is no yeti, just misidentified bears”
Or at least that is what media took from it.
